Roof Hail or Storm Damage

Will my homeowners insurance cover storm damage to my roof? Typically, yes. However, it will depend on your policy, but homeowners insurance usually covers:

  • Wind Damage
  • Hail Damage
  • Damage from fallen objects, like tree limbs
  • Interior Damage that resulted from storm damage to your roof

Let’s say a spring storm here in the Upstate with strong winds blows shingles off your roof. Rain water makes its way through into your master bedroom and damages the wall. You should be covered.

But, if the leak in your roof was not created by the storm, then it may not be covered by your insurance.
